About Donna Ross

Donna suffered from severe depression for most of her life.  In spite of this debilitating disease she taught high school and college biology and environmental science for many years.  She also worked as an environmental consultant to engineering firms where she delineated and mitigated wetlands for development projects.  Donna was a tireless volunteer in her community and regionally and she championed environmental and wildlife preservation causes. She was an active volunteer for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, Sierra Club and Saguaro National Park where she volunteered the day she passed away.  She was an avid hiker, wild flower specialist and sailor.  She shared her love of the natural world with all of those around her and introduced many to sailing.  She is greatly missed by her family, friends, husband (Ken Ross), two sons (Rick and Drew Lucarelli), a daughter (Melissa Bieseker), and four grand children.
